I thought someone would argue that point, as, people will always argue if a band were new wave, pre-goth etc. but the bands i listed were the majority starting point of goth.
I am not talking NU-Goth, Lipstick Goth or Dolly Goth, we're talking original proper goth 1977-89.
I'm only talking british goth, not German Goth, incase someone wants to bring that point up.
there's plenty of sites out there that will say the bands listed are or aren't goth bands. some will say Joy Division started it, others Siouxsie and some will even say Bauhaus.
in the end they started the heavy make up and influenced the dark music that was goth.
